This was the year for California Supreme. His progeny could not be outperformed by any breed at the 1999 and 2001 Midland Bull Test and at the Cal Poly Bull Test his sons were the highest gaining bulls on test. He has been a sire who passes on his superior performance and docile temperament and eye appeal to all his progeny. His calves have all been standouts at birth and continue to catch your eye and outperform all the way through to yearlings. We now have active daughters in the herd and they are all passing along his great genetics for performance to their calves.
California Supreme is one of most outstanding herdsires in our program. He ranks in the top 1% nationally for Ribeye, in the top 5% of the breed's sires for WWT EPD and in the top 8% for YWT EPD. He does all this with a modest BWT of 78 lbs.
2087's outstanding performance earned him the title of "Supreme Grand Champion Performance Bull" over all breeds at the 1996 California State Fair.
2087 is a maternal brother to another great herdsire, Stand Off 1629. Their dam Becky 1706 has a MPPA of 107.3 on 9 calves. She is a daughter of Royal Scotch 787, whose females express femininity and performance. This maternal line is highly sought after, and they prove themselves to be keepers. She has been used this year as our lead off donor cow with great success.
To our great sorrow we lost California Supreme 2087 in a tragic accident earlier this year. He was truly a legend in his own time, and a great asset to us and the breed. Limited semen available.
